- The Blue Mountain Jamaican Coffee is grown at high altitude in the misty peaks of the Blue Mountains of Jamaica (~1,700 m) and it comes from steep terrain that is rich in volcanic soil, with frequent rain and cloud cover - all contributing to its slowed bean maturation, which enhances its unique flavour complexity. Beans are hand‑picked, sorted and processed with meticulous care (rather than mass‑harvested) to ensure only the best cherries are used. It’s a protected certification mark/ appellation: only beans grown in that specific region and meeting strict criteria can legally be called “Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee”, so you know you are getting the real deal. The coffee is silky smooth, very well‑balanced, mild acidity, hints of chocolate, nuts, herbs and floral notes — and importantly: very little bitterness. Production is limited, and much of it is exported (notably Japan takes a large share) — meaning supply is constrained, which adds to its prestige.
